# Deck to video

A Récit story is written once. Below, the **same file** is rendered twice: as slides by the deck
format, then as a film by the motion blocks. Nothing is converted by hand: the film reads the scenes
through the [inference table](https://docs.recit.dev/formats/motion) of the motion format.

A deck scene becomes a shot when its shape is in the table: a cover is a `title`, a section a
`chapter`, a paragraph a `statement`, a bullet list a `list`. Code, grids or images have no motion
block yet: such a story stays a deck, and the page says so instead of guessing.

`theme: saas-product` in the front matter is a named theme of `@recit/theme`: the slides and the
film read the same tokens, so the story keeps its colors and fonts in both. See
[Named themes](https://docs.recit.dev/theme/named-themes). A `motion:` block in the front matter holds the
settings only the film reads, such as `wordsPerSecond`.
