# Video

A film plays in the browser, and the same story renders to an **MP4** with `recit render`. Both
paths read the same blocks, timing and themes, so a paused frame in the page is the frame of the
video. `video.recit.dev` leads here.

```bash
npx recit render story.md --aspect 9:16 --output out/
```

| Aspect | Size        | Use                          |
| ------ | ----------- | ---------------------------- |
| `16:9` | 1920 × 1080 | talks, pages, product videos |
| `1:1`  | 1080 × 1080 | feeds                        |
| `9:16` | 1080 × 1920 | stories and shorts           |

`@recit/motion-render` uses Remotion and a headless Chrome. It is an optional dependency, loaded on
demand: playing a film in a page never needs it.

The MP4 files of the gallery are rendered in CI and attached to the site build when they exist.
